Dr. Sowell grew up in Nacogdoches, Texas where he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency training at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Sowell then pursued an additional two years of surgical training in Dayton, Ohio before returning to Nacogdoches. Dr. Sowell has been back in Nacogdoches since 1999 and has enjoyed being involved in his community by serving in many civic and charitable organizations. Most notable being Regents Academy and the Tony Franklin Foundation. He has a beautiful wife, Lara, four children and one grandchild!
Matthew Daugherty, DPM
East Texas Foot Associates is pleased to introduce our new associate Matthew Daugherty, DPM. Matthew Daugherty, DPM specializes in foot and ankle care including reconstructive surgery, general foot care, wound care, management of deformities and multiple other foot and ankle conditions. Prior to his arrival, Dr. Daugherty completed his residency training for podiatric surgery at the Eastern Colorado Health Care System Denver VA Medical Center hospital. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Des Moines University in Iowa in 2011. His undergraduate biology degree was obtained at Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2006 and he graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2002. Matthew was born in Conroe, Texas. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, Amanda and Eastlynn. He also enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, and water-skiing.
